We strongly encourage Summerside’s visitors to explore our beautiful city (as much as possible) by foot. Our city is perfectly suited for walking, and there’s a story around every corner.
Our heritage houses have many stories to tell, and represent the stylistic trends which prevailed at different stages in the City’s development. Our walking tours through the Historic House District and along the Water Street Commercial District will introduce you to many of Summerside's beautiful heritage buildings.

While you walk, look out for the beautiful murals throughout the city. To celebrate the millennium, the City of Summerside was approved for funding through the Canada Millennium Partnership Program (CMPP) to create a series of murals that would explore our heritage, celebrate our achievements and leave a lasting legacy.
