Councillor Norma Diana McColeman has served six terms as a Summerside Councillor as of the last municipal election on November 7, 2022. She served as Deputy Mayor in 2017 and again in 2018-2022. 

In 2011, she was federally appointed to serve as a member on the National Council of Welfare in Ottawa.

She has 35+ years of experience as a team leader, workshop facilitator, motivational speaker, and leadership mentor in the areas of personal lifestyle wellness, employability skills, personal development, and outreach counseling.

She has served as family violence prevention Outreach Coordinator since 2000 with PEI Family Violence Prevention Services, working directly with victims of domestic abuse and violence and facilitating support programs, prevention training workshops, and community educational awareness. She retired from this role in 2017.

A devoted mother and grandmother, Norma lives with her husband of fifty years in Summerside.

She offers a multifaceted background and experience, recognized leadership, and advocacy support for Summerside residents, and with various groups/organizations.
