Following are comments received on the CBC article Eliminating bridge toll bad public policy, says AIMS VP:

1) Islanders should be able to save their bridge receipts and claim them against their income taxes. The bridge in Quebec that was built with tax payers' money will have no tolls so why do Islanders pay?  ** (Heather Thorpe)

2) Maybe we could find the funding in Quebec from the bridge the Feds paid for - illegally. ** (Ron Jackson)

3) It is true that some people do not travel the bridge as AIMS VP claims. He is correct. His opinion is those that use it pay the fee and why should taxpayers have to. But all are. Running any business on PEI requires imported product from mainland. Therefore all freight coming over the bridge pay additional fees which is added to consumer retail cost. In my business when I order product the bridge fee is always calculated additional cost for delivery. Thus freight charges and bridge fees are added to consumer retail pricing. So if one used the bridge or not for personal use the cost of goods delivered to Island consumers are added. So all pay extra $$ for groceries, dry goods, furniture, etc.(Kevin Waugh)
