Clean, Safe Water for You and Your Family
Access to fresh, clean drinking water is something we rarely think about in Prince Edward Island, but a great deal of infrastructure is needed to allow us to fill this essential need for our residents.
The City of Summerside relies on ground water and maintains 10 active wells to ensure all residents have access to clean drinking water. The City has 2 water storage towers, each containing 4.5 million litres of water. Our water distribution network is made up of 130,830kms of in-ground piping.
We provide clean, safe water to 6141 households and 316 commercial customers every single day, adhering strictly to Health Canada’s Guidelines for Canadian Drinking Water Quality.
