Municipal Government Act provides the legislative framework for municipalities in PEI to create and sustain safe, healthy, and viable communities.
The Province of PEI passed amendments to its
Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIPP) legislation in June 2018, which allows public information requests to be made to Island municipalities and post-secondary institutions.
The City of Summerside passed its
Access to Information and Protection of Personal Information Bylaw #CS-29 in February 2020.
