Before Erecting a Sign
The City of Summerside has regulations outlined within the Zoning Bylaw, with regards to signage.
The purposes of the City’s sign regulations are to:
- promote effective advertising for commercial businesses which informs, rather than confuses, customers and avoids excessive visual competition between signs
- promote traffic safety by limiting distractions to drivers and pedestrians
- minimize nuisances from signage in residential neighbourhoods
- enhance the City’s amenity values as a place to live and to attract tourists and other business development
