The Summerside Police Services now has a Vulnerable Persons Registry. This is a voluntary submission where caregivers to vulnerable persons may submit their information to us, to give us a better understanding of the individual in the event they go missing or in an emergency.
A Vulnerable Person is defined as: a person who due to a medical, mental health, or physical condition may exhibit patterns of behavior that may pose a danger to themselves. This may include but is not limited to the following:
* Autistic individuals or individuals with Asbergers Syndrome
* Individuals with Alzheimer's Disease
* People with a debilitating head injury
* People who have an inability to communicate
* People with fascinations or attractions (water, construction sites etc)
* Social responses (fear of stranger, aggression)
Summerside Police Services are committed to keeping all our citizens safe.
