Setting up your commercial or industrial electricity service
The City of Summerside is unique in that we own our own electrical utility—Summerside Electric. Half of our yearly municipal budget comes from our utility. When our utility is profitable, that money is reinvested into community programming and infrastructure.
All commercial and residential customers must visit the Financial Services Department at 275 Fitzroy Street, Summerside, to request electricity service.
Are you an Industrial customer?
Small Industrial: Customers who use electricity chiefly for manufacturing or processing of goods or for the extraction of raw materials and have a minimum contracted demand of five kilowatts.
Industrial: Logging Industries, Mining Industries, Crude Petroleum and Natural Gas Industries, Quarry and Sand Pit Industries, Service Industries Incidental to Mineral Extraction, and Manufacturing Industries.
