Help is Here
If you’re the victim of a crime, contact police immediately by calling 911, and the appropriate assistance will be dispatched to you. Though it may be difficult to discuss what has happened to you, it is important to report the incident to police. Some crime victims find it helpful to bring a friend with them to the police station to discuss traumatic incidents.
Nobody is immune to becoming a victim. Being victimized, therefore, comes by surprise and is most often unavoidable. There are a number of programs and services available to support victims of crime in Canada.
Police officers receive in-depth sensitivity training and can provide a wealth of support and information to victims of crime.
