Two More Drivers Charged With Passing School Buses
The Summerside Police Service has charged two more drivers for passing school buses displaying flashing red lights.
On November 7 at approximately 3pm, police received a report of a vehicle having passed a school bus outside a Pope Road daycare.
A 73 year old female was charged as a result of that incident.
Then, on December 5 at approximately 9am, police received a similar report from the Water Street area near the Holland College campus.
A 22 year old west Prince man has been charged in relation to that incident.
Both drivers were issued summary offence tickets pursuant to the provisions of the Highway Traffic Act which carries a minimum fine of $1000.00.
This is the fourth such charge laid by the Summerside Police in the past month. Police are again reminding the public to use caution when approaching school buses and to obey the flashing red lights to ensure the safety of students travelling to and from school.
