Vehicle Hits House During Traffic Stop
Just before 10am this morning, patrol members of the Summerside Police Service observed a vehicle being driven on South Drive with no license plate attached to it.
Police followed the vehicle to the Sheen Street area where they attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The vehicle then turned into a residential driveway, slid on some ice and then struck the residence, causing minor damage.
The driver of the vehicle, a 28 year old Summerside man, was showing obvious signs of impairment and was arrested at the scene for impaired driving.
The man then provided breath samples that were three times the legal limit. He is being held in custody and will appear in court at a later date to answer to charges of impaired driving and driving with a suspended license.
