Keeping Roads Safe
Our Public Works crews are busy for much of the year, conducting road repairs throughout the City. It costs approximately $210,000 per kilometre to replace a street. We resurface 8kms of street each year for an annual cost of $1.68 million.
Reporting Potholes:
Although the City of Summerside Public Works crews regularly patrol streets to identify potholes and other road deficiencies, potholes can develop on a daily basis when temperatures begin to hover around zero. The City can use your help in identifying locations that require attention so that they can be repaired in a timely manner. Pothole complaints are addressed on both a priority and a scheduling basis.
To report a pothole: Take note of the exact location; please be specific and let us know: street name, which lane, and address it’s in front of or near. You can report a pothole via email (and you can attach a picture if you'd like) at [email protected] or call 902-432-1268 and our staff will take the details from you.
