Maintaining our Streets
The City of Summerside’s Municipal Services Department keeps our streets and sidewalks safe and clean by patching, landscaping, cleaning, and repairing paved and concrete surfaces.
Construction of new streets is handled by Technical Services (902-432-1262).
Our crews plow and salt all municipal streets, sidewalks, and parking lots. We’re also responsible for traffic line painting and all public signage dealing with traffic movement, traffic control, parking, and street names.
Seasonal Rotation Schecule
The below work processes are done annually and the dates are a guideline. Please note that work will continue beyond those dates for anything left undone. Also, any issue reported after those dates will be investigated and actioned based on assessment.
Street Sweeping -April 21 to October 31
Asphalt Patching - May 20 to July 1
Construction Season - June 15 to November 30
