Safe Tree Trimming and Removal
When Summerside Electric is contacted with a request for tree trimming, a staff person will visit the site to decide if electrical safety hazards exist. If so, Summerside Electric will determine to what tree trimming work is necessary.
Summerside Electric does not trim trees near the service lines that supplying electricity from the network directly to the customers property unless there is a an immediate and serious electrical hazard that must be taken care of right away. Customers should hire professional tree trimmers to managing trees on their own property. Trees close to power lines need to be trimmed by qualified with the right tools and education.
Upon request, Summerside Electric may remove the wire to allow for tree removal and then place it back once the work has been completed.
When tree trimming is done by Summerside Electric we make sure there is enough clearance so the tree stays safe until the next time our regular tree up keep is completed. Our trimmers are trained in the right pruning methods to direct tree growth away from power lines. Sometimes a tree is too close to a power line needs to be cut down completely for safety reasons.
