Setting up your Commercial or Industrial Utility Accounts
The City of Summerside is unique in that in addition to our water and sewer utilities, we also own our own electrical utility—Summerside Electric. Half of our yearly municipal budget comes from our utility. When our utility is profitable, that money is reinvested into community programming and infrastructure, like Credit Union Place.
To request utilities, all customers must visit the Financial Services Department at 275 Fitzroy Street (1st Floor), Summerside.
Are you an Industrial Customer?
Small Industrial: Customers who use electricity chiefly for manufacturing or processing of goods or for the extraction of raw materials and have a minimum contracted demand of five kilowatts.
Industrial: Logging industries, mining industries, crude petroleum and natural gas industries, quarry and sand pit industries, service industries incidental to mineral extraction, and manufacturing industries.
For more details about whether you are a commercial or industrial customer, please see the Electric Rates and Schedule Policy, listed at the bottom of this page.
